It still seems surreal that there is a little one growing inside me. I'm not showing yet and I am still in school so I am by no means in baby mode yet. Sarah offered some of her baby things to me and I hesitated because the baby still wont be here for what seems like a long time. She gave us her a crib, stroller, and baby blankets, one of which mom used for us when we were kids. I brought everything home and it started to sink in for me. I don't know how it is for Colin because he wanted to put up the crib today. I think we will wait at least a few more months for that. It's midterms which leave only about 7 weeks until the end of the semester. I think moving back to live with Colin, being done with school, and having time to really sit and think about the little miracle that is coming will help baby mode set in. Til then, these blankets and crib will be very foreign.

Mode switch is coming

A ring
I talked with C0lin on the phone tonight. He lives in Salt Lake City working at his new job that he loves and is excelling at. He is on a business trip in Oregon. What crazy adventures he is having with his coworkers. He absolutely loves the challenge.
We have been lucky to see each other every weekend since school started and the next three weeks the pattern will continue! He comes up here, I go down there. We are blessed that this is happening in a time of our lives where we can live apart and make it work. We are both so driven and independent.
Sometimes I think 'what does this little shiny rock mean? What does it mean to me?' I will tell you. I accepted this ring from a man I know could provide for me, make me happy, and love me for who I am for the rest of my life. I think about my commitment to my lifelong journey with my best friend every time I see my little ring shine in the light. I smile. I put in my effort and he puts in his. We are in this together. We will never be alone again. I know our little family will be as happy as ever.
Speaking of which....
...for those of you who don't already know. I hit 10 weeks on Sunday. The little one is already over an inch long.

Senior Recital

I did it. This weekend, I did my senior recital. It was a wonderful experience. Since January, I have been preparing to give an hour long recital as the finishing achievement of my undergraduate career. Everything went well. Most of my family members came from Utah and California. My friends Brennan and Kellen played a piece with me and my sister Miriam accompanied me on the piano. No major derailments, I got a little tired but the audience, the performance and the feeling was perfect. It couldn't have gone better. Part of me still can't believe its already over. I'm sure it will take a while for it to sink in.
Over the past few weeks, I hadn't been too nervous but I knew it was coming. It wasn't until the day of that I started getting nervous and flustered over the smallest things. My hair wasn't working and Miriam came to my rescue. My programs were having problems and Brother Tueller came to my rescue. I wasn't warming up enough and again Brother Tueller came to my rescue. I had butterflies before I went out for the first piece but once I sat down and started playing my whole being wasn't in another place as I was in my element and creating music, just me and my cello in an empty room.
Thank you to Brother Tueller for opening my mind to the world of music and for all your love and support over the past three years. Thank you to all the friends I have made here at BYU Idaho that have grown with me in the our continuing love for music. Thank you to ALL my family for your encouragement and enthusiasm over the years and for making the sacrifice to travel all the way up to the sticks of Rexburg to hear me play.
Thank you to Mom for having all of us start music at a young age with the piano and a string instrument. We all love and appreciate you for bringing music into our home. We all have taken that love for music and started our own traditions for our homes.
