I love these boys. The Roscoes were a big part of my High School experience. Most of the stories I recall from HS include one of these boys in one way or another.
I got on Facebook this morning and saw that it was Mathews birthday. I went to his profile to write happy birthday on his wall. I stopped. When was the last time I actually talked with Mathew? Or Michael for that matter? What is so hard about picking up the phone and calling him, hearing his voice, catching up a bit and telling him happy birthday? Nothing. So I did. It was a great conversation. I am pretty sure I woke up him even though it was after 10am but I thought he wouldn't mind.
There are so many friends I have had over the years. School growing up, HSU, the singles ward in Humboldt, and BYU-Idaho. These people are so special to me and have contributed to my happiness in little and big ways. I keep up with them by looking at their Facebook pages but we dont communicate in the way enough to really keep in touch.
Why is picking up the phone so hard? I shouldn't be so afraid of that line of communication. I want to keep in touch with people. Through Email and phone calls- actual conversations instead of one sentence every few months on Facebook. Who knows if I will be able to keep up with people forever but I want to make a better effort.
And Happy Birthday again Mathew :)
